Now that's entertainment
You have to love crazy real estate guys like the Donald and now Gator-berger. Can you imagine being there...
Real estate tycoon Ronald Bergeron, who made his millions by developing much of the former Everglades in southwest Broward County, last weekend took guests on a tour of his private 5,000-acre-plus nature preserve in south Florida.Feeling the need to make the visitors' recent $10,000 donation to the Boys and Girls Club worthwhile, Bergeron found an alligator and decided to wrestle it."Couples donate a lot of money to charities for the weekend and I always tell them I'm going to wrestle an alligator," Bergeron said Wednesday. "It's part of my Florida cracker culture. My grandfather was a game warden in the Everglades and I grew up around alligators."The wrestling event soon went awry, as the 7-foot-long 'gator dragged Bergeron into a lake where it used a submerging tactic to disorient the multimillionaire, and then used a rolling maneuver to unsuccessfully dislodge the 62-year-old, while severely injuring a couple of the man's fingers.Spectators eventually grabbed the 'gator's tail and helped pull it out of the water, as Bergeron continued to hold on to the beast's jaws.Bergeron was whisked away to a nearby hospital but vowed to return to wrestling, saying it's "too exciting" to give up.
